Our collections house historical records of the academy from its founding in 1802 to the present, as well as academy publications like cadet yearbooks (Howitzer), the post newspaper (Pointer View) and Annual Reports of the Superintendent. We also have a vast holding of personal manuscripts, maps, photographs and other unique materials, as well a rare book collection that includes early European and American imprints and the Sylvanus Thayer Collection.

Our Reading Room is located in the West Point Room, Bartlett Hall North 422.
There are directional signs throughout the fourth floor of Bartlett Hall to guide you. Maps are also available to users upon request.

The West Point Room was built in 1964 as part of the old Cadet Library. It is now the reading room for Archives and Special Collections, located on the fourth floor of Bartlett Hall.
