Physics and Nuclear Engineering

A research guide for cadets taking P&NE courses or majoring in Physics and Nuclear Engineering.

Resources for Space Science

Databases

  • NASA Technical Reports Server (NTRS) - Database of NASA and NACA conference papers, journal articles, meeting papers, patents, research reports, images, movies, and technical videos.
  • Aerospace Research Central (ARC) - Search full-text articles and conference papers published by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). AIAA is the premier provider of information on aerospace technology, engineering, and science. Titles document the most important developments and the latest research in air and space history.
  • DTIC - Defense Technical Information Center, contains DOD funded research reports and information.
  • Science Collection - Updated daily, this collection includes 1.6 million articles and 200 journals. Explore the latest scientific developments in particle physics, advanced mathematics, nanotechnology, geology, and hundreds of other areas.
  • ScienceDirect - Discover ebooks and peer-reviewed journals in the areas of physical sciences and engineering, life sciences, health sciences, and social sciences and humanities. It contains indexing, abstracts, and tables of contents for over 2,500 journals and over 35,000 ebooks.
  • IEEE Xplore - Provides full-text access to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines, conference proceedings, and standards.
  • ASME Digital Library - Portal to American Society of Mechanical Engineers publications. We do not subscribe to all journal titles.

Reference

  • AccessEngineering - Discover a regularly updated engineering reference tool for professionals, academics, and students. Features include instructional faculty made videos, calculators, interactive tables and charts. This resource also contains personalization tools that allow users to organize crucial project information as they work.
  • Knovel - Contains online monographs and reference books in many areas of science and engineering. It can be used early in the research process to become aware of general safety information for particular activities, processes, and substances, as well as later in research to learn more specifics about substances. Included are interactive tools that normalize information across content sources and bring content to life by making tables, charts, equations, plotters and graphs interactive.
