Athena: USMA Scholarship

Edit or Remove Submissions

Submitters benefit from having access to edit or remove the submissions created under their own account.
Additionally, submitters are empowered with the ability to upload a revised or updated version of the work they have previously submitted.

Athena: USMA Scholarship is intended to be a permanent archive for scholarship produced by students, faculty, and staff affiliated with the United States Military Academy. In exceptional cases, authors or library staff at resourcesupport@usmalibrary.org may request that works be removed from the archive. Reasons for withdrawal of content could be factual inaccuracy, copyright infringement, or plagiarism.

Content will not be removed due to the author producing a revised version of a work, because Athena: USMA Scholarship allows authors to submit a revised version of the work. By selecting the "Create a new version" icon on the right side of the item title, authors are empowered with the ability to upload a revised copy of the work to the institutional repository. This is also a helpful option for authors who might initially only share a DOI link to the material, but at a later date decide to upload a PDF of the work or supplementary material to give readers better access to their work.

Material deposited in Athena: USMA Scholarship will remain when the author leaves the institution. In the event that material is removed, a record of the item will be preserved, with an explanation of the withdrawal action.
